What It Does

Use 3DGS Viewer when you need to quickly answer a simple question: does this splat open correctly, look right, and convert into the format I need?

It is not a trainer. It sits after capture and training, where preview, inspection, format conversion, and sharing become the main jobs.

Drag a supported splat file into the viewer and confirm that it loads correctly.
Use camera controls to inspect scale, orientation, floaters, crop quality, and visual artifacts.
Convert or export to another supported format when a downstream tool requires it.
Upload and share hosted models when you need a simple web link.

Very large source PLY files can be limited by browser memory and device GPU capability.
Always verify converted files in the exact target tool or runtime.
A viewer can reveal pose or training problems, but those usually need to be fixed upstream.

Use 3DGS Viewer as a format sanity check immediately after training or conversion, before sending files to a client or publishing them.
For archival work, keep the original full-quality PLY even when the viewer can export smaller delivery formats.
For editing floaters or cropping, jump to SuperSplat or a workstation tool; for quick preview and conversion, stay here.
